Security Concerns with Google’s Chrome

Now that the new Google web browser Chrome is up and active, there are some issues erupting on its privacy policy. Find out more about it.

Now that the long wait for the launch of Google’s new web browser is over, people are thoroughly scanning the browser. And must expectedly there has been some issues on the Privacy concern of the browser. The fact that Chrome is still in its beta version has given some relief to the critics, but the loop holes are brought to light with the hope that they will soon be justified.

Chrome has a so-called omnibox, that retrieves suggestions from Google’s servers as soon as you type and before you hit the return button. Chrome and other Google services use Google Suggest that randomly picks 2% of the requests and store them. Google says that it is about to alter its Suggest technique. It would now work on anonymity after 24 hours. Well if this is true, then there should be less privacy concern than what is happening at present.

This is not all, there is another concern that is on talk these days. It is said that Chrome also has some installation issues. It does not install in the program directory but in the user directory. It is said to be utilizing an application- specific identifier which is unsecured.

The Federal Office of Information in Germany accuses Google of launching an unfinished product for public use. It also said that it could be risky as the the user data is risky and hoarded with a single vendor.

Now that Google covers all the important areas of the web including search engine, email and web browsing, such an incomplete and unprofessional attitude where user’s privacy is on toll is not expected. Hope Google will not fail to keep up its reputation with its latest venture.
